Retail Strip to Support Filinvest Cyberzone

A podium retail that will house nine tenants, mostly in the food business, will support the 10 floors of business process outsourcing (BPO) offices in Filinvest Cebu Cyberzone in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City.

This new retail strip at the corner of Salinas Drive and Geonzon St. will house an original concept of the Anzani Group called District in 53, a food hall that provides five food sections.

Popular fast food chains Jollibee and Chowking will also expand their businesses at the Cebu Cyberzone, as well as the Japanese convenience store franchise FamilyMart.

Cebuano concepts like Mooshi and Dimsum Break will also open outlets at the strip.

Some of these tenants will be opening toward the end of the year.

Joy Polloso, senior vice-president of Filinvest for Retail Group, said the retail strip will cater to the estimated 10,000 employees of the existing building’s full build-up.

“Being located right in front of the street and with convenient accessibility, high foot traffic is expected in the area. It also has more than a hundred parking slots allotted for the retail customers,” said Polloso in a statement.

She noted the strip has triggered high interest among retail food locators.

She said the company is working to develop the remaining area to a more diversified and “exciting” retail format.

Filinvest Cebu Cyberzone is a joint venture between the Cebu Provincial Government and the Filinvest Land Inc. (FLI) under the build-transfer-operate scheme for 25 years.

Under the agreement, FLI, through the Cyberzone Properties Inc., is obligated to pay Php500,000 to Capitol as its share of the revenue or two percent of the monthly revenues generated whichever is the highest.

Cebu Cyberzone is a Php5-billion BPO complex that will have four BPO towers.

It is projected to generate around 100,000 jobs in Cebu by 2020. (PNA) FPV/EB/EDS
