856 G Gallery presents this January 12 to 31, 2015 the art exhibit of Jose Mari Picornell entitled Remembrance of Cebu Past at the 856 Business Walls Building.

Cebuano painter Jose Mari Picornell has joined numerous group exhibits as an independent artist. Born in Cebu City sometime in the mid-1900s, he began painting as a high school student.

Joe loves to walk and ride his bicycle around the city, always seeking for scenes which please him, and usually paints on the streets in impressionist style. As an artist, he believes that art should be free, having no limits or restraints. Through his medium, he absorbs and shares his art to a willing audience, he said, “There isn’t much to talk about, but there are many to see.”

He became a finalist in several art competitions and won 3rd place in Cebu Art Association’s contest entitled In Modernism last 2005 at the SM Arts Center.

856 G Gallery is located at the 856 Business Walls Building A.S. Fortuna St. Mandaue Philippines.
