Published

on

To equip its partner with the capability to run a nursery, the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) GREENIN Philippines Program conducted a nursery establishment and seedling production training to Notre Dame University (NDU) last July 26 and 27.

Selected student-officers taking up National Service Training Program (NSTP) classes, representatives from the People’s Organization, and some faculty and staff of the school attended the two-day training.

Lectures included seed sources and propagation, transplanting, soil medium ratio and mixing, roles of worms as decomposers, worm beddings, worm foods, nursery layout, harvesting, and type of worms used in vermi composting.     The actual workshop and demonstration was held at the new nursery facility inside the NDU campus.

The school’s nursery facilities and construction materials of NDU is funded by Cotabato Lights & Power Company.

NDU is a partner of RAFI and a member of the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP).
