Qatar Airways relaunched on Friday its Cebu route, bringing a total of 13 weekly flights to the Philippines.

The carrier will be servicing the Cebu route thrice weekly starting Friday, with a flight to Doha scheduled at 6:15 p.m. The last time Qatar’s flag carrier operated in Cebu was in 2012.

In a statement, Qatar Airways Group chief executive Akbar Al Baker said the airline is delighted to launch a new direct service to Cebu to offer another gateway to the Philippines. “It has been Qatar Airways’ mission to take people home safely during the pandemic,” he said.

The carrier currently has nine weekly flights via Manila, and one weekly flight via Clark.

Meanwhile, Qatar Airways has been providing protective kits, and disposable face shields to its passengers.

Passengers will also be allowed to make unlimited changes in travel date, and change in the destination if it is within 5,000 miles of the booked destination. Fare differences will not be applied for travel completed before December 31, the airline said. (PNA)
