PRO-7 Says No More Taping of Cops’ Guns’ Muzzles for Christmas, New Year

Chief Superintendent Noli Talino, Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 director, on Monday said the muzzles of police personnel’s service firearms will no longer be taped during the celebration of Christmas and New Year.

Talino said this is the new policy announced by Philippine National Police Director General Ronald “Bato dela Rosa.

The policy will be imposed to all policemen across the country, Talino said.

In previous years, the muzzles of the service firearms of policemen were taped and signed by their respective chiefs to show that they did not fire their guns during the holidays.

But they can still use their firearms when responding to alarms.

“Our chief PNP believes that policemen are responsible and mature enough in using their firearms. No more gun muzzle taping this time,” he said. (PNA)
