The Police Regional Office (PRO) in Region 7 is not conducting any investigation on Cebuano businessman “Peter Lim,” the alleged supplier of illegal drugs to suspected drug kingpin Kerwin Espinosa.

Chief Superintendent Noli Taliño, PRO 7 director, said Camp Crame is the one conducting the investigation.

Talino said they will only give support if they are ordered to do so.

Lim had denied the allegations that he is a member of a drug syndicate in the country.

Taliño also said new names of drug protectors from police and other government offices might surface, after the surrender of Espinosa’s alleged supplier, Lovely Adam Impal.

He said he has a list of drug protectors and their names might be mentioned by Impal.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7 Director Yogi Filemon Ruiz also said he has not received any instruction from the national headquarters to open an inquiry on Lim, whose name surfaced again during the Senate inquiry last Monday.

“If we’re told to conduct an investigation, we also won’t say anything about it,” he said. (PNA)LAP/EB/EDS
