President Benigno S. Aquino III to Lead the Observance of the 119th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Jose Rizal

The Rizal Day 2015 Inter-Agency Task Force will lead the commemoration of the 119th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal on 30 December 2015, 7:00 a.m. at the Rizal National Monument, Rizal Park, Manila; Museo ni Jose Rizal, Calamba City, Laguna; and Museo ni Jose Rizal, Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte.

The flag-raising and wreath-laying rites at the Rizal National Monument in Manila will be led by President Benigno S. Aquino III. He will be assisted by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines Chair Maria Serena I. Diokno, Exec. Dir. Ludovico D. Badoy and other officials from various government agencies.

Congressman Joaquin M. Chipeco Jr., Laguna Governor Ramil L. Hernandez, Calamba City Mayor Justin March SB. Chipeco will lead the commemorative rites in Calamba City. Dipolog City Presiding Judge of Regional Trial Court Branch 6, Jose Rene Gallemit Dondoyano will be the guest of honor in Dapitan City.

Lectures, tertulia, poetry reading competition, light and sound presentation and guided tours, free medical and optical services, Filipino games exhibition, fireworks display, free LRT/MRT rides are some of the activities for the observance of Rizal Day.

The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote and preserve Philippine historical heritage through research and publication, conservation, marking of historic sites and structures, and administration of national shrines and museums.
