As the three-day National COVID-19 Vaccination Days dubbed “Bayanihan Bakunahan: Ligtas. Lakas. Buong Pinas.” draw to an end, the Philippines achieved a new feat as the country is now ranked fourth in the countries with the highest number of vaccinations in a single day, according to Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque III.

This feat comes as the country has successfully administered COVID-19 vaccines that numbers a whopping 2.7 million doses in a day. Ranked first is China with 22 million, followed by India with 10 million, then the United States with 3.48 million jabs.

Brazil came in at fifth with 2.6 million jabs in a single day.

However, Duque said that if the list looks at the population, the Philippines should be ranked number one as the other countries, though having administered more jabs in a single day, have a bigger population than the Philippines.

The Philippines has been experiencing an uptick in number of doses administered even before the National Vaccination Days, as the average vaccination rate of the country in the least seven days rose to 1,505,991 doses.

For the three-day vaccination drive, the country has so far tallied over 7,600,000 doses and is expecting the number to increase. (GFB)
