PB Asks PNoy: Combine Probes on Mamasapano Clash

The Cebu Provincial board on Monday asked President Benigno Aquino III to combine the efforts of all fact-finding bodies investigating the killing of 44 PNP elite force in Mamasapano, Maguindanao.

In a resolution authored by Board Member Arleigh Jay Sitoy, the Province asked the President to create an independent “truth” commission that will consolidate all inquiries regarding the bloody encounter.

The resolution, approved by the Board during its regular session yesterday, reads: Conducting too many probes does not at all mitigate what the entire Philippines feels toward the incident and, in fact, such may only blemish the truth behind what really transpired during the clash”.
