P3.4M Worth of Marijuana Plantation Destroyed in Toledo

Over P4-M Worth of Marijuana was uprooted in a Farm Discovered in two barangays in Toledo City on Thursday, March 21, 2018.

A report from a concerned citizen tipped the police that there is a marijuana plantation in the mountain barangay in the city.

Around 6:00 am, operatives from Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office VII (PDEA RO VII), Toledo City Police Station, and the Naval Intelligence Service Group and Naval Special Operations Group Naval Forces Central destroyed marijuana plantations in Brgy. Tungkay and Brgy. Climaco, Toledo City.

The 10,000 fully grown marijuana stalks were uprooted and had an estimated value of P3.4 million.

Police Senior Superintendent Manuel Abrugena said that they will intensify there campaign on illegal drugs and the importance of the cooperation of citizens in the eradication of illegal drugs.

“We will continue to intensify our campaign to rid the community of illegal drugs, your help in giving us information is vital. Daghang salamat (Thank you) for cooperating with local authorities,” Abrugena said.

The recovered plants were burned immediately after they were uprooted. (ASC)
