Over P180-M Spent During El Niño in Cebu Province

P187.4 million was spent by the Cebu Provincial Government to address the adverse effects of El Niño, said in a meeting at the Capitol Social Hall on June 20.

During the second quarter accomplishment report, Cebu Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Monitoring Council (PDRRMC) head Baltazar Tribunalo expressed the details of the report.

According Baltazar Tribunal, at least P32.6 million was spent on relief goods and services while P154.8 million was spent on purchasing water storing items and level II and level III water systems.

As of June 18, 2019, Food items were distributed: 3,771 sacks of NFA rice, 154,840 pieces of canned goods and 113,130 packs noodles. These were distributed to 35 Local Government Units (LGU’s) in Cebu Province that are heavily affected by El Niño

Meanwhile, non-Food items were also distributed: 41 pieces Polyethylene (PE) water tank, 221 rolls PE pipe, 1,380 pieces plastic drums, 6,915 pieces jerry cans; 62 pieces water pumps, and 3,515 pieces water containers. These items were distributed throughout the LGU’s in Cebu Province. (ASC)
