Online World Mourns the Death of Thatcher

Twitter and Facebook users since last night were saddened by the news of the death of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

“I was saddened to hear the Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher has passed away. It is a personal loss because she has been supportive and full of encouragement when I was still chairman of the SBMA (Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority),” said former Senator Richard Gordon, in his Facebook, last night. Gordon remembered Thatcher’s visit in Subic when he was still its chairman. He said Thatcher’s “words of encouragement and life of inspiration will never be forgotten.”

Local celebrities and ordinary Twitter and Facebook subscribers also posted the same good words for Thatcher. And while others recalled how bravely she fought to restore her country’s peace while the present leaders are doing nothing, other users were just content to pray for her soul.

Thatcher was known as the “Iron Lady” who helped transform her country with combative decision-making during her time as Prime Minister. She died last night. She was 87.
