Around 100 New People’s Army (NPA) fighters stormed a Lumad village in Bukidnon, abducting one person Wednesday afternoon.

The incident took place 2 p.m. at Sitio Dao, Barangay White Kulaman, Kitaotao town, 4th Infantry Division public affairs office chief Capt. Joe Patrick Martinez said.

The NPAs were led by one “Joseph,” he added.

Initially, the rebels abducted Samuel Paradero, Beltran Paradero and Jovane Rabaca but later released Samuel and Jovane for still unknown reasons.

Pursuit operations are still ongoing as of this posting.

Martinez said the rebel attack stemmed from frustration as the latter was unable to infiltrate the said village. (PNA) RMA/PFN
