Cotabato City — The municipality of Midsayap, North Cotabato has advised residents to practice the 4:00 p.m. habit of cleaning their surroundings following the sudden increase of dengue cases in the area that has claimed the lives of four locals the past two months.

Gemma Acosta, municipal health officer-in-charge, said their office has recorded 17 dengue cases last month, with three deaths, prompting them to raise the dengue alarm.

In May, a victim also died at a town hospital due to dengue.

In six dengue death cases in the province this year, four came from Midsayap, she noted.

Acosta said the situation remains manageable although they are constantly monitoring dengue incidence in the locality.

Midsayap has registered 76 dengue cases since January this year. (PNA) FPV/NYP
