The company’s humble beginning started in 1967, a 16-year-old tailor, Esperanza Arzaga started her own tailoring business by making gowns for clients at a very young age. Esperanza got her interest in creating gowns from her mother who was also a tailor.

She later moved to Iligan City in 1974 and opened the first branch of Modiste  La mode Fashion designing wedding gowns, barongs, and suits.

Esperanza went to Slim Fashion school in 1978, this helped her improve her designing and tailoring skills and help improve the quality, at this time Modiste La mode Fashion Iligan was already successful.

“Wa jud ko nagmahay nga ni-eskwela ko ug fashion designing kay at least na-improve akong skill,” Esperanza said.

In 1984, Esperanza expanded her business in Cebu City and created 2 branches in Osmeña Boulevard and Sanciangko Street and in 2016, Modiste La mode Fashion added a branch in Lapu-Lapu City.

What made them successful over the years is their drive for perfection and quality of their products which made them a preferable choice for customers.

“Di man ko mahilig ug basta mahuman lang, ang gusto nako quality, perfectionist baya ta, ” Esperanza said.
