MMDA Joins The Healthy Family Movement

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Healthy Family Purified Water, a unit of Manila Water Total Solutions, paving the way for a partnership that will promote the Healthy Family Movement, an advocacy promoting clean and safe drinking water for all.

As part of the commitment, Heathy Family is now the official hydration partner of MMDA and shall provide purified drinking water for a period of three years until 2019 to all MMDA personnel, particularly those assigned in MMDA’s field operations.

According to MMDA chairman Atty. Emerson Carlos, having safe and clean drinking water has been a challenge for MMDA personnel, especially those assigned in the field who would normally buy their own drinking water or worse, enter fast-food restaurants just to be able to get a glass of drinking water and hydrate themselves from the heat of the sun.

Carlos said that with Healthy Family’s partnership, MMDA staff and personnel will now enjoy clean and safe drinking water every day in all MMDA field and satellite offices all over Metro Manila.

The MMDA, in turn, shall help Healthy Family promote its advocacy through MMDA’s various information and communication channels that include its Pahayagan sites, satellite offices and ferry stations.

Healthy Family posters and banners will be posted on 148 Pahayagan sites located within Metro Manila beginning this week.

Manila Water Total Solutions president Ferdinand Dela Cruz expressed his appreciation for MMDA and Healthy Family’s partnership, saying that hydration – not just any ordinary hydration but clean, safe and DOH- and FDA- approved drinking water that has a shelf life of six months – is very important, especially to MMDA personnel who render public service.

Healthy Family Purified Water is a product of Manila Water Total Solutions. Since its official launch in August 2015, Healthy Family has expanded its coverage beyond the East Zone of Metro Manila and Rizal province. (PNA) SCS/CLTC
