Metrobank Foundation, as part of their tradition and commitment to giving back to society, partnered with World Vision to deliver clean drinking and hand-washing water to two schools in Kidapawan City.

Access to clean water is still a problem for a lot of schools in the province. Overall learning is affected by poor hand washing and hygiene practices. Having clean water is key to promote basic hygiene and help avoid the spread of diseases in environments such as schools.

Ginatilan and Lapan Elementary Schools in Kidapawanwill be receiving water facilities that will bring clean water to 755 students in total.
“Making a difference is the bedrock of Metrobank, not just as a bank but as a corporate citizen. Long before the idea of corporate social responsibility became a buzzword, the idea of giving back was already an important part of the bank’s equation,” said Metrobank Foundation President Aniceto Sobrepeña.

World Vision Resource Development Director, Jun Godornes, expressed gratitude over the donation and shared, “health is a key component to a child’s overall education and well-being; this has always been and continues to be one of World Vision’s main thrusts.”
With the help of generous donors like Metrobank, World Vision hopes to reach and assist at least 3 million children through child-focused programs by 2020.
