Medellin Seniors From 18 Barangays Receive “Halad”

The provincial government recognizes senior citizens as an important part of the community. The program, “Halad alang kang Lolo ug Lola” is one way of extending help.

On April 13, a total of 4,400 senior citizens from 18 barangays of Medellin town received goods from Capitol.

Organized by the office of Vice-governor Agnes Magpale, the distribution was held in four barangay day care centers in Medellin.

Despite the scorching heat Mercedita Rosalejos of Barangay Kawit went personally receive her goods.

“Salamat gyud kaayo sa bugas. Makatabang gyud ni bisan gamay. Wala man gyud mi tarong nga ani tungod sa El-Nino mao nga makatabang ni,” Lola Mercedita said

Senior recepients were from barangays Kawit, Mahawak, Maharuhay, Antipolo, Curva, Tindog, Panugnawan, Dalingding Sur, Canhabagat, Don Virgilio, Dayhagon, lamintak Sur, Lamintak Norte, Luy-a, Pblacion, Caputatan Sur, Caputatan Norte and Daanglungsod.
