Cebu City Mayor Osmeña urges motorcycle dealers to hasten the registration of newly bought motorcycles or they will be closed said in a meeting on June 25.

The mayor is concerned about new owners of motorcycles who are not able to use their newly bought motorcycles because of pending registrations.

“If you get caught in Cebu City because of a new motorcycle and your papers are not processed yet I will pay the fine.” he said in a meeting.

He also said that this is fault of LTO why it takes tool long to process registration and not giving new owners a permit to use their newly bought motorcycle

“It is also the fault of LTO why does it take so long… or why did they put a rule that because they cannot do their jobs the person cannot ride his motorcycle…” he said.

“I have also issued an ultimatum to these motorcycle dealerships who delay the submitting of registration papers to LTO: keep this up, and you won’t be selling motorcycles for much longer.” Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña said on his Facebook post.

If he found out that the delay is the fault of the dealer he warns to close their business. (Aljun Cainghog/Cebu City PIO)
