After receiving reports of several shooting incidents in the city last week, Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama is set to meet police officials for peace and order situation.

Despite the incidents, Mayor Rama assured that the allowance of about a thousand policemen in Cebu City will not be discontinued.

“Padayon ang allowance sa kapolisan. Tungod sa nahitabo, the more tubagon ang panginahanglan,” Rama said further explaining that the incidents should not be taken as an excuse not to release the allowance of the policemen.

The re-elected mayor also appealed to the legislative body, as well as the private sectors, to help the executive department in implementation of its programs for the benefit of all constituents in the city.

The Police Coordinating and Advisory Council (PCAC) already passed a resolution approving the proposed increase of P4, 000 from the P2, 000 monthly allowance of the policemen.  Peace and order will also be the main concern during PCAC meeting headed by Engr. Eugene Elizalde on Tuesday, June 11, 2013.  (Gessa Gunhuran, Cebu City PIO Staff)
