Mayor Osmeña: Drug Dens will be Demolished
Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña ordered the demolition of all houses that are used as drug dens after a four-year-old child was killed by a stray bullet during an anti-drug operation in Brgy. Ermita last July 10, 2018.
In a meeting at the Cebu Mayor’s Office, the demolition is to be effective immediately. If the house or building is discovered to be a drug den and if you cannot present a building permit, the building will be demolished.
“I’m warning the people there in Ermita, any house that is caught having a drug session, if you don’t produce your building permit I’ll demolish the house,” Mayor Osmeña said.
Mayor Osmeña visited the wake of Skyler Abatayo, the child that was killed by a stray bullet during an anti-drug operation. He gave the family P10,000.00 cash assistance and promised to pay the expenses for the burial of the child.
The four-year-old boy died in an anti-drug operation in Sitio Bato, Brgy. Ermita when the police and targets exchanged fire. Skyler Abatayo, who was living nearby got hit with a stray bullet leading to his death.
The drug suspects who were caught in a drug session were unharmed in the shootout. (Aljun Cainghog)
