Maya, the fastest-growing digital bank and all-in-one money platform, received the SHIELD Trust Award for building exceptional standards of security and trust across its consumer and enterprise ecosystem.

The award was presented by global risk intelligence company SHIELD at the inaugural Trust Summit held in Singapore.

“We are honored to receive this recognition for building a trusted and top-rated platform. As the country’s only end-to-end integrated financial services and digital banking platform, Maya commits to upholding the highest standards of security in our products and services,” said Mitch Padua, Maya Group Chief Product Officer.

Padua also delivered the keynote remarks during the Summit as he shared how Maya became the leading digital bank and financial services platform in the Philippines.

Building a secure user community is one of the key pillars of Maya’s product design. Maya has embedded security across its platforms, processes, and organization.

For example, the Maya consumer app incorporates a more robust Know-Your-Customer experience, employing artificial intelligence and machine learning for face matching, ID image classification, fake ID detection, ID OCR, and biometrics.

The app also uses third-party device, transaction intelligence and fingerprinting services to protect its customers from account takeover and unauthorized account creation. Meanwhile, Maya Business merchant partners enjoy the best-in-class anti-fraud detection for their transactions.

In June this year, Maya topped the Privacy Awareness Week Awards organized by the National Privacy Commission (NPC). It received the Privacy Initiative of the Year for its unique approach to building a culture of privacy across its organization. The NPC also recognized Maya Bank as a finalist for the Privacy Management of the Year for establishing customer-centric data privacy practices.

The SHIELD Trust Awards are conferred upon organizations who have displayed exceptional standards of trust, following an independent and non-sponsored evaluation of its trust profile.
