Manulife Asset Management Trust Corporation recently launched the Manulife Global Healthcare Equity Feeder Fund (the “Fund”), an equity feeder unit investment trust fund (UITF) that provides investment opportunities in healthcare-related companies listed globally. Investors may access the Fund for as low as Php5,000 or US$100.

“The global healthcare industry presents potentially profitable long-term investment opportunities in advancements focused on disease prevention, as in the case of the COVID-19 vaccine, as well as developments in Central Nervous System disorders (CNS), obesity or metabolic syndrome, and other rare cases. Around the world, we see increases in health-related expenditures, particularly in countries with aging populations,” said Aira Gaspar, President and Chief Executive Officer of Manulife Asset Management and Trust Corporation. “The Fund will enable investors to take advantage of the healthcare sector’s exciting growth potential at a time when its value to economies and societies has become more important,” she added.

The Fund’s target fund (Manulife Global Fund – Healthcare Fund) invests in accordance with its guiding principles to drive fund performance. The target fund seeks innovative companies that have achieved groundbreaking progress in understanding previously untreatable or undertreated conditions. The target fund also seeks underappreciated market opportunities related to medical breakthroughs and companies that are well-positioned to bend the healthcare cost curve via products, services, or technologies.

Manulife Asset Management and Trust Corporation was recognized as one of the Philippines’ top investment houses by The Asset Benchmark Research Review 2020, with award-winning fund managers ranked among the country’s most astute investment professionals.
