The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB)-10 is hosting another Mindanao-leg of the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP) Caravan on September 20, 2019 at SM Uptown in Cagayan de Oro City.

With the theme “Arangkada ng Pagbabago Tungo sa Kaunlaran,” the caravan aims to showcase a variety of PUVMP-compliant units and engages the support of its stakeholders across the country.

A motorcade, passing through the main thoroughfares of the city, will lead to a showcase of various modern PUV- compliant units followed by a program with presentations by representatives from key national government agency-partners such as the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Office of Transportation Cooperatives (OTC), Land Transportation Office (LTO), Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) and Development Bank of the Philipines (DBP), highlighting the significant parts of the program like consolidation of franchises, fleet management, subsidy and loans.

LTFRB-10 Regional Director Aminoden Guro said, “We are inviting our valued stakeholders – members of transport cooperatives, operators and drivers — to join the caravan and participate in the open forum so they can share and clarify their concerns on PUVMP.”

The PUVMP is the flagship, non-infrastructure project of the administration of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte with the goal of providing a comfortable life for all Filipinos through safe, reliable, convenient, affordable and environmentally-sustainable public transportation system in the country.

Last September 17, the PUVMP Caravan was successfully showcased in Pagadian City, Zamboanga de Sur where some 700 transport cooperative members from various parts of Region 9 attended the event.

From Cagayan de Oro, the caravan will move to Valencia in Bukidnon on September 24, 2019. (LTFRB-10/PIA10)
