LP Welcomes Latest Pulse Asia Survey as Mar Ratings Continue to Rise

Stalwarts of Liberal Party (LP) on Monday hailed the slow but sure increase of acceptance rating of administration standard bearer Mar Roxas II in th latest Pulse Asua survey.

Eastern Samar Rep. Ben Evardone, Quezon City Rep. Alfred Vargas, Cavite Rep. Francis Gerald Abaya, and Laguna Rep. Dan Fernandez, staunch supporters of the LP standard bearer, said they expect Roxas’ numbers to rise further because the people have started to realize his capability as a leader after being endorsed by President Benigno “P-Noy” Aquino III.

“The continued upswing of Mar Roxas’ ratings in both SWS (Social Weather Station) and Pulse Asia has debunked the propaganda of the opposition that he is not winnable. I think (former Interior and Local Government) Secretary Roxas has already overcome that negative perception because of the surge of his ratings,” Evardone said in a text message.

According to the LP spokesman, they just have to maintain their positive campaign on the need for continuity of good governance versus uncertainty.

“Unti-unti na nilang nakikilala ang tunay na marangal at mabuting pagkatao ni Mar Roxas. The dramatic increase of Sec Mar proves this. This increase is very significant while others’ ratings went down. This is very encouraging,” Vargas pointed out.

Abaya said that one thing is clear that Secretary Mar is surging and is unstoppable.

“I think our people are beginning to realize the value of what the Tuwid na Daan crusade has done for our country. And they are starting to believe that Sec. Mar is the best person to continue this. I will not be surprised if Sec Mar tops the survey by the time he officially files his candidacy as our next President. We in the Liberal Party and our allies support him all the way,” Abaya explained.

For his part, Fernandez said: “we see the upward trajectory, we are moving up and they (opponents) are going down.”

The latest Ulat ng Bayan survey of Pulse Asia disclosed that Poe remains the leading presidential bet with a rating of 26 percent, followed by the ruling Liberal Party (LP) standard bearer Mar Roxas with 20 percent, Binay with 19 percent and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte with 16 percent.
