After a landslide victory in the May 13 Midterm Elections, Valdemar “Val” Chiong is officially the Mayor of Naga City once again.

Chiong expressed his desire for unity during the 4th Sangguniang Panglungsod (City Council) inaugural session yesterday, July 3, at the Legislative Building in Naga City, Cebu.

Chiong said that city councilors, officials from the executive department and all department heads in the City Hall should coordinate and cooperate with each other to promote a “Smooth Sailing” Government.

“Kung kita mag tinabangay ug maghiusa, mas mu nindut ang kahimtang sa mga Nagahanon (If we unite and help each other, our citizens can live a good life),” Chiong said.

Meanwhile, former City Mayor and now Vice Mayor Kristine Vanessa Chiong during her speech showed her support to bring vast development in the city.

The Vice Mayor added that the most important contribution they can make is to perform their duty to the best they can in the legislative department.

Vice Mayor Kristine Chiong is also hopeful that every ordinance must be studied thoroughly by her and the councilors to have a good result that can be implemented in the city. (MLC)
