Joavan Pleads Not Guilty

The controversial son of Talisay City Mayor Socrates Fernandez early morning Friday entered a not guilty plea to three criminal cases filed against him.

Joavan, who has been an inmate at the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) since his arrest two weeks ago, was arraigned at the Cebu City’s Regional Trial Court branch 10 Friday morning, where he pleaded not guilty to the illegal possession of firearms, violation of the Commission on Elections gun ban and illegal possession of explosive. The said cases stemmed from his arrest earlier this month.

Apart from his legal counsel, Joavan was also accompanied by his father-mayor at the court. Shortly after the arraignment he was escorted back to the CPDRC.
