How to Overcome Mind Battles

Published

on

We all have mind battles—things that trigger our thought processes to go into overdrive with worry, stress, anxiety, analysis paralysis, and fear. Our mind is so intricate that it can process a wide range of emotions and thoughts, from joy to sorrow, from our shopping lists to world problems. We often analyze, ponder, and overthink situations so that our mind runs rampant with vain imaginations and false scenarios.

However, all the fascinating things the mind can do and the different directions it can go also explain why our mind can be a battlefield. We can waste our time worrying, and it steals our peace.

No one can tell you what your battle is or how you struggle with it. Even though we all may have struggled with fear, we process, analyze, feel, and think in different ways. No one can directly relate to your issue except you.

Eradicating stress, fear, rejection, and negativity from our thoughts can be difficult, but not impossible. God’s Word tells us that with Him, nothing is impossible.

My challenge was I didn’t know I was in a battle. I had known fear for so long that I didn’t think I could be free or how to gain that freedom. Then I learned of God’s delivering power. This is one reason why I always lead people to seek the Holy Spirit. He is the only one who knows what you experienced, how you felt, and how it is still affecting you. The Holy Spirit convicts, teaches and guides us. He leads us to Jesus, who told us not to worry because His heavenly Father will take care of us.

Struggles with emotional battles are common, so when you experience one, it should not bring forth shame or condemnation. Expose your battle and expose the enemy. As you identify your battle, reach out to someone you trust for accountability. Ask them to pray for you and occasionally check in on you during your deliverance process. You can be free.

May your utter dependence be upon Him, Jehovah Rapha, as you seek your healing. Fill your heart with God’s Word and He will deliver you from all your fears.
