First Dog Park in Parkmall

As the Parkmall Dog Walk program turned a year old, the mall continues its responsible pet ownership advocacy by launching the city’s first ever dog park. The Central Bark is a 200-square meter dog agility track with five canine obstacles.

During the launching, registration started at 3 p.m. followed by an enriching seminar on “How To Play With Your Dog” by dog behaviorist Jojo Bautista.  Right after the Central Park unveiling, pets paraded around Parkmall as the dog walk kicked off. There were also free rabies vaccination by the Mandaue City Veterinarian Office. Games, surprises, and a dog accessories fare also highlighted. The event was for free of charge but dog owners were encouraged to donate dog food or in kind for the benefit of the Island Rescue Organization (IRO)’s pet rescue center.

Parkmall’s regular dog walking program is held every 2^nd and 4^th Saturday of the month. This is open to all dogs with a Parkmall Pet Pass. Parkmall is the city’s first pet-friendly mall with amenities and programs geared towards animal wellbeing.
