Fair Weather Until Weekend

Most parts of the country except in Mindanao will continue to have fair weather with isolated thunderstorms in afternoon and evening until weekend, according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Thursday.

PAGASA weather forecaster Shelley Ignacio said that no weather disturbance seen near in Philippine Area of Responsibility that may develop into tropical cyclone until weekend.

She said that the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is affecting Southern Mindanao.

The ITCZ, which is the thick clouds coming from the south of Asia, is considered a breeding ground for low-pressure areas (LPAs) or potential cyclones.

For Thursday forecast, the ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms over the regions of Caraga, Davao And Soccsksargen while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening will prevail over the rest of the country including Metro Manila.

Light to moderate winds blowing from the east to southeast will prevail over Luzon and coming from the east over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate.

The state weather bureau has not issued gale warning as the fisherfolks is safe to venture into the seas. (PNA) FFC/CLTC/Tresha R. Finianos (OJT)
