Fair Weather Seen Until Christmas

Except for light rains, most parts of the country will have fair weather on Tuesday as two weather systems continue to affect the country, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA weather forecaster Shaira Nonot said northeast monsoon or “hangin amihan” now affects Northern Luzon while tail-end of a cold front prevails over the eastern section of Central and Southern Luzon.

She noted that no weather disturbance — that may affect the country in the next few days — has been seen or spotted near the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

For Tuesday forecast, PAGASA said cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over Eastern Visayas, CARAGA and the provinces of Quezon and Aurora.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains is expected over the regions of Ilocos, Cordillera and Cagayan Valley while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

It added moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast with slight to moderate seas.

The state-run weather bureau has issued a final gale warning on Monday afternoon due to the weakened northeast monsoon as fisherfolk are now safe to venture into the seas. (PNA) JBP/CLTC
