Expect Cooler Temperatures After Paeng Leaves — PAGASA

Published

on

State weather agency said cooler temperatures may return once Typhoon Paeng (international name Nuri) exits the Philippine Area of Responsibility Tuesday noon. PAGASA said this is due to the northeast monsoon regaining its strength after Paeng leaves.

PAGASA said once Paeng exits PAR, it is expected that the temperature will decline because northeast moonson will again gain strength. It added that the weather had been humid in Metro Manila in past days, but could get cooler in the coming days.

Paeng Weakens

As of 6 am update, PAGASA said Typhoon Paeng weakened slightly as it continued to move northeast at 15 kph.

It said Paeng was 1,295 km east of Basco, Batanes at 4 am with maximum sustained winds of 195 kph near the center, with gusts of up to 230 kph.

Central Visayas and Mindanao will be cloudy with light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms, report said.

The Cagayan Valley, Cordillera and Ilocos Regions will be partly cloudy with isolated light rain due to the northeast monsoon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
