The Cebu City Government headed by Mayor Michael Rama has acquired Seventeen (17) brand new dump trucks which will be managed by the city’s Department of Public Services (DPS).

Reverend Father Brian Brigole, from the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral, blessed the six-wheeler brand new Foton dump trucks which were parked at the vacant lot beside the city’s Senior Citizen’s Park.

Mayor Rama turned over the brand new Foton dump trucks to DPS chief Engr. Dionisio Gualiza right after the blessing.

In an interview, Gualiza shared that the band new dump trucks, which is supplied by the Tiger Motor Sales, is worth P2.195 million each with funds coming from the general fund of the city.

“It will be under the custody of DPS and that if the barangays will need it they can borrow the dump trucks in our office,” Gualiza underscored.

Furthermore, the office of DPS is located at the Second Floor of Ramos Public Market Building, along F. Ramos Street, this city.

Gualiza added that the new dump trucks are of great help in speeding up garbage collection within the city. Prior to the turnover, the city has 34 dump trucks. (By: Greggy Jiggs P. Senados, PIO Staff)
