Dili Gayud Mahibaloan Ang Kinabuhi

Life is really unpredictable! And who can predict that their wedding day’s schedule would be the day “everybody will be on the run for their precious lives” because of that powerful earthquake. But nobody can tell because as the saying goes, “Only the events will tell us in each hour.”

And who would know one of the greatest men in our history books, William Churchill of Great Britain, will outlive the great menacing tragedies that almost cost his life? At one time, while in the battlefield in his early twenties (because England was engaged in countless wars), he just transferred from his foxhole to another place when the spot he just vacated was hit by a grenade lobbed from enemy’s direction. And in his early childhood, he experienced the most horrible incident at sea he can never forget all his life. He was out in the sea one pleasant morning rowing his boat just to have a little enjoyment of his childhood’s adventure sniffing the early morning breeze when all of a sudden a strong wind blew out from nowhere and he found himself aimlessly drifting in the middle of the deep blue sea. But he was miraculously saved of that breath-taking moment when, from the opposite direction, this time a “friendly force” of a strong wind blew  him to the shore and saved him only to find himself that he was destined to capture a bigger share of the world’s great history – as one of the world’s great men that essentially helped carved an unforgettable chapter of man’s greatness.

And who knows, this couple could also be destined to  accomplish some of the great moments of their lifetime in the days to come with the help of our God Almighty?

Note: This refers to a personal life story of a lady who worked in the States and who opted to have her “long table” held here in Cebu City. Unfortunately, the day she chose for her wedding day happened to be where, of all the unexpected things to come, a strong earthquake would rock Cebu and Bohol islands where an overall list of casualties would reach 185 with Bohol paying the heavy toll in terms of lives lost.
