All governors and city mayors including the mayor of capital municipality of each province were nominated by their colleagues for the position of RDC chairperson.

Outgoing RDC chairman and Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama said that recent and pending projects started during his leadership should be respected by whoever sits as the new chairperson of RDC.

Also, the whole council passed a mass motion for the conferment of new Private Sector Representatives (PSRs) as members of the council for the next three years.
