Designers’ Boutique Opens in One Pavilion Mall

UNIQLO clothes, and Hong Kong Disneyland shirts, souvenirs and bags, are just some of the finds at newly opened designers’ boutique, The Coterie, at One Pavilion Mall in R. Duterte St., Banawa.

The shop is located at the second floor of the mall and it opened yesterday, Dec. 18. Designer friends, family and relatives graced the event.

The Coterie, which means in French a small, often select group of persons with common interests and who associate with one another frequently, is owned by young entrepreneur-fresh architecture graduate Jehanne Frances Dy. Jehanne narrated that the motivation behind opening a boutique of her own is drawn by her passion in  the buy and sell business of RTWs (ready-to-wears) that she had been doing for quite some time already.

She said that she started to be involved in the activity when she was a student, meeting up, when she had the time, friends and people who buy the items she posted on The Coterie Facebook page (now Penumbra).

“Sometimes, we don’t meet at a particular schedule because the client is busy, and we don’t have a place to meet up. So with this shop, we can meet here now,” said Dy during the opening of her store.

Aside from UNIQLO and original items from Hong Kong Disneyland, available at The Coterie are also RTWs from Bangkok and Hong Kong, and Trinkets (which is her mom’s brand of butingtings). Not only that, the boutique is also a couture shop where Jehanne’s fashion designer friends can accept clients in.

“I have designer friends so what we did was we gathered my friends and they consign here. They post their pieces here and their (business) cards are available in the area for anyone who’s interested to contact them,” enthused Jehanne. Dy said that clients can just schedule an appointment with the designer of their choice and they can meet up at the boutique.

As you walk in the shop, you can see variety inside—from latest styles of clothes to cute stuffs to designer clothes. According to Jehanne, soon to add on to the items at the store are bags, and shades from Penumbra. Price range of RTWs are from P400 to P1, 200, while P500 is the most expensive item for Hong Kong Disneyland finds.

The store is offering 10 % discount on all items until Dec. 24.
