Dalaguete Wins The “Bote Challenge”

The town of Dalaguete in southern Cebu was hailed as Champion in the recent upcycling project “Bote Challenge”.

The said challenge is a project by Nature’s Spring Foundation, Inc. where people and students can use plastic bottles to make different usable products like basket, lantern and more.

The awarding was held at the Bai Hotel in Mandaue City last November 5, 2019.

The Dalaguete National High School received P750,000 as reward.

Other municipalities in DepEd Cebu Province who topped the Bote Challenge:

4th place – Compostela National High School (P20,000)

12th place – Simala National High School (P20,000)

14th place – Boljoon National High School (P20,000)

14th place – Casay National High School (P20,000)

Meanwhile, the Department of Education Cebu – Division of Cebu Province welcomes Dr. Marilyn Andales as the new Cebu Province superintendent. Andales succeeded former Cebu Province superintendent Dr. Rhea Mar Angtud.

Andales was the former Lapu-Lapu City Schools Division Superintendent. Meanwhile, Angtud is now the new Superintendent of the DepEd Cebu City Division.

The turnover ceremony was held at the San Remigio Beach Club in the town of San Remigio in northern Cebu.

Andales is hopeful that under her leadership, DepEd Cebu Province can make more things happen to help give students the education they need. (MLC)
