Cebuano Businessman Shot Dead in Davao City

A prominent Cebuano businessman was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Davao City Thursday.

Vital C Health Products, Inc. and Crown Regency hotel chain Chairman Richard King was in a coffee shop inside Vital C building in Barangay Bajada, Davao City, when a gun man approached and shot him in the head at close range.

A witness account said the shooting occurred between 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Radio station DYSS, in a phone-patched confirmation report from its sister station in Davao City, said King, who is among the owners of Club Ultima in Cebu City, was in Davao to attend the commencement rites of Vital C Wellness Consultants.

Davao City police said the suspect is of medium build, standing 5’5″, who sped away after the incident through a black XRM motorcycle driven by an accomplice who waited outside the building.

As of this writing, Davao City police are still conducting investigation.
