Cebuano Athlete Bags Three Medals in 2017 Asean Para Games

A Mandaue City resident won three medals in the 9th Asean Para Games held last Sept. 13 to 14, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Armin Dino from Alang-Alang, Mandaue City, bagged two silver medals, one in the 400-meter sprint and another in the 200-meter sprint; and a bronze medal in the 100-meter event.

The Asean Para Games is a biannual multi-sport event held every after the Southeast Asian Games for athletes with physical disabilities.

Dino, a 33-year old sprint runner, also bagged two gold medals in the Paris Charlety 2017 World Para Athletics Grand Prix in Paris, France last June 1 to 3 in two special categories.

Cebu Provincial Sports Commission executive director Ramil Abing said the Provincial Government has been supporting Dino for three consecutive years, providing him with travel allowance and sports paraphernalia.

Dino, with his father Oliverio, paid a courtesy call to Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale and former PB member Grecilda Sanchez Tuesday, October 3.

They were accompanied by PWD president Joy Llesol and Sports Development officer Ildebrando Velasquez of the Provincial Sports Commission.
