Cebu Cop Bags ‘Model Family’ Award

Senior Police Officer II (SPO2) Egmedio B. Felisan, Jr., assigned at the Police Community Relations (PCR) in the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) has brought honor and pride to the Cebuanos after championing this year’s 3rd Nationwide ‘Model Family’ of the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) held last September 9 in Makati City.

SPO2 Felisan Jr. who is a father of three, worked for 23 years now in the PCR of CCPO and a registered voter of Barangay Carreta, though his family recently transferred in Consolacion town.

“Nagdugay ko sa akong trabaho nga ang family values sama sa pagka-God-fearing, family-centered, ug respect kinahanglan gyod sa mga ginikanan nga e-impart to their children,” the exemplary Cop underscored in an interview with the BARUGG News.

The exemplary cop was recognized by the city government headed by Mayor Michael L Rama, last September 23, Monday during the City Hall employee’s flag-raising ceremony. He was accompanied by his family and CCPO Chief Senior Superintendent Noli Romana who’s thrust is to enhance not just the technical skills of the policemen but also to develop their potentials, values and character.

The runners-up were coming from Sariaya, Quezon in Region 4 and Sudipen, La Union in Region 7. The winners received Fifty thousand pesos (Php 50,000.00) with plaque and medal for the Grand Winner, Thirty thousand pesos (Php30,000.00) with plaque and medal for the 1st Runner-up, and Twenty thousand pesos (Php20,000.00) with plaque and medal for the 2nd Runner-up.

Furthermore, this is the second time that a Cebuano cop made it to the grand finals of the annual search. The first was in 2012 with Police Inspector Rogelio Ruiz also from CCPO who bagged 2nd runner-up in the 2nd Search for Nationwide Model Family. (By: Greggy Jiggs P. Senados, PIO Staff)
