Cebu City Scholarship Program Still Available to K-12 Graduates

Cebu City Councilor and Deputy Mayor for Education Hon. Joy Augustus Young announced that the Cebu City Scholarship Program is still available to all Cebu City graduates of K-12.

The submission of requirements for the first batch ended last April 13 while examination has been scheduled from April 23 to May 7, 2018. However, the Cebu City College Scholarship Program is still accepting applicants for the second batch.

In order to avail the scholarship, you must be:

a. A graduate from any public secondary school within Cebu City;
b. A graduate from a public secondary school near Cebu City boundary due to inaccessibility of a Cebu City Secondary School;
c. A graduate from a private secondary school due to a scholarship grant, but studied and graduated from any public elementary school within Cebu City;
d. A graduate from Alternative Learning System in Cebu City;
e. A passer of Phil Educational Placement Test (PEPT); and
f. Parent/s or Guardian must be residents and registered voter/s of Cebu City

Guardian must present an Affidavit of Guardianship and If parents are deceased, must also present Death Certificate.

These are the following requirements needed:
For those who graduated from Public High School in Cebu City:

1. COMELEC Voter’s Certification of Parent
2. Barangay Certification of Parent as to residency
3. Proof of Residency (Water/ Electric/ Phone bill/ or any government issued ID which reflects the address) of Parent/s
4. Copy of NSO Birth Certificate of Applicant
Additional Requirements for those who graduated or will graduate from Private HS in Cebu City through Scholarship:
5. Copy of Elem. School and JHS Diploma or Certification of Graduation from a Cebu City Public Elementary School
6. Certificate of Scholarship from the Sponsor or Copy of EVS/ ESC Voucher

You may pass your requirements at the Local School Board Office located at the 2nd floor of Bayanihan Multipurpose Cooperative across Cebu City Hall.

The City government is expecting not more than 8,000 scholars for Batch 2018 because of the National Free Tuition Law in some state universities like Cebu Normal University, Cebu Technological University and University of the Philippines.
