Cebu City Residents Advised to Visit Cemeteries Early

Published

on

Residents in Cebu City are urged to visit their deceased relatives in cemeteries early to avoid large crowds during Undas or All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.

The Cebu City government is inclined to follow the suggestion of the Archdiocese of Cebu to limit the visiting of cemeteries during Undas to people who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Acting Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama said that the Undas tradition is important to Cebuanos. He added that they can still visit their deceased loved ones before Undas.

Cebu City police will also be deployed in the five major cemeteries in the city for security and to ensure the observance of the health safety protocols such as wearing of face masks and social distancing.

All cemeteries will be opened on October 18 for early visitors that will clean the graves or offer prayers and flowers for their deceased loved ones. (ASC)
