Cebu City Local Party Bares Complete Slate for 2016 Polls

The Partido Panaghiusa sa Panerbisyo (PPP)-Team Rama, headed by Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama, has bared its complete slate for the city’s north and south districts in the May 2016 elections.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has set the filing of the certificates of candidacy on October 12 to 16.

Running for councilors under the local group in the city’s north district are Tinago barangay chairman Joel Garganera, Apas barangay chairman Ramil Ayuman, former congressman Pastor “Jun” Alcover, JP Labella, who is the son of Vice Mayor Edgardo Labella, and former councilor Edwin Jagmoc.

The other north district candidates for councilor are reelectionist Noel Wenceslao, Kamputhaw barangay councilor and Barangay Councilors League of the Philippines Cebu City president Atty. Raymond Garcia and former Sambag I barangay chairman Jerry Guardo.

Former mayor Alvin Garcia is Team Rama’s candidate for congressman in the north district.

Team Rama’s slate for the south district is composed of former city councilors Jose “Joey” Daluz III, Jocelyn “Joy” Pesquera and Eduardo “Edu” Rama Jr. as well as reelectionist Councilors Dave Tumulak, Nendell Hanz Abella and James Cuenco.

It also includes Renato “Junjun” Osmeña Jr., son of former vice mayor Renato Osmeña, and Inayawan Barangay Captain Lotlot Ignacio-Soon.

Incumbent Cebu City Councilor Gerry Carillo is running for congressman in the south district under Team Rama.

Both Rama and Vice Mayor Edgardo Labella will be seeking reelection next year.

Rama said there is no date yet for the presentation of Team Rama candidates, but it will be before the launching of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) in Cebu on Oct. 9 at the Cebu Coliseum. Team Rama is allied with UNA. (PNA) LAP/EB/EBP
