CCLEX Set to Open This Month

The long-awaited Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) is nearing completion and is set to finally open on April 22, four years after the construction of the expressway started.

This comes as the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway Corp. (CCLEC) announced the opening date of the project on their website and said that the project was already at 93.05 percent completion as of February 2022.

However, CCLEC did not expound further on additional details regarding the awaited opening of the expressway.

Once opened, the 8.9-kilometer expressway will serve as the third bridge connecting mainland Cebu and Mactan Island, with the expressway also connecting mainland Cebu and Cordova via the South Road Properties.

CCLEX is expected to serve at least 50,000 vehicles per day and will decongest the existing bridges between the mainland and Mactan. (GFB)
