CCCI Turned Over Five Industrial Sewing Machines

The Bangon SugBohol Movement through its lead convenor – the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) turned over five Industrial sewing machines to two identified beneficiary groups last April 2, 2014 at BOHECO 1 Compound, Tubigon, Bohol.

Regan Rex King, Chairman of the Disaster Risk Reduction Committee of the chamber led the turnover ceremony.

Last year, series of benefit concerts were organized by the Bangon SugBohol Movement to help the victims of the 7.2 magnitude earthquake in the province of Bohol. The event successfully generated Php 2.38 million in cash and donations in-kind.

Part of the amount pooled from corporate, group and individual donations that were entrusted to the movement has been allotted to the affected cottage industries in the island of Bohol in order to assist in their livelihood, restore their economic activity and strengthen the sustainable efforts of the movement for the micro-enterprises in Bohol in coordination with the Department of Trade and Industry.

As kick-off, five industrial sewing machines were turned over to two beneficiary groups of micro-entrepreneurs namely the Triple A Handicraft of Poblacion, Sagbayan, Bohol and Siony’s Handicraft of Panaytayon, Tubigon, Bohol.

The turnover ceremony was also attended by Mayor Marlon Amila of Tubigon, Mr. Isabelito Tongco (Head- External Affairs Office of Gov. Chatto), representatives from DTI Bohol – Mr. Jerome Gabin and Mr. Rey Regis and the officials of BOHECO 1 led by their ISD Manager – Engr. Rene Tumabang.
