The Cebu Provincial Government turned over another community latrine facility to the beneficiaries in Sitio Magsaysay, Barangay Sunog, Balamban town on Wednesday.

The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) head Baltazar S. Tribunalo led the event along with representatives from Cebu Provincial Health Office (CPHO), Cebu Provincial Social Work Welfare and Development Office (CPSDWDO), Balamban Rural Health Unit, Sunog Barangay Captain Jose Garizaldy Baterna and council members.

The Rise and Build International Foundation, under the initiative of the Latter Day Saints (LDS), help build the communal toilet that prevents the spread of diseases within the sanitation system.

Project Manager Bro. Rey Pua said the Provincial Government is supportive of the project.

During the turn-over rites, Pua presented the goal and the plan of the LDS for the community which includes building more latrines in the community.

The foundation is truly thankful to the Provincial Government for being so supportive to our project, and we always make it sure that every project we have, we will course through to the Provincial Government.” Pua said.

“Our goal to improve the quality of life of the community, and we plan to build more in the next Sitio,” Pua added.

Tribunalo said he is grateful to the foundation and advised the beneficiaries to take good care of the facility.

“In behalf of the Governor and Vice Governor Agnes A. Magpale, we would like to thank you again for this wonderful project. It strengthens the private-public partnership with the province and Latter Day Saints. And to the beneficiaries, please good care of this facility, keep it clean and presentable all the time,” he said.

A community-managed latrine has the same technical similarities to individual latrines. The same design that was built in Barangay Gaas last August.

The Rise and Build International Foundation is one of the many foundations who helped the Province since the aftermath of Typhoon Yolanda. It has donated different projects around the countryside. (Chad Bacolod)
