Governor Hilario P. Davide III lead the inauguration of Php 7.5 million worth of projects for the municipality of Samboan. The projects, including five (5) new classrooms, and multipurpose buildings came from the Capitol and other sources.

Governor Davide and Vice Governor Agnes Magpale led the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new school buildings with a total of five classrooms.

Second district Congressman Wilfredo Caminero and the provincial board members, who were having their out of town session, were also in attendance.

Vice Governor Magpale said the towns implemented most of the projects of the current administration, with the funds downloaded from the Capitol. She said they are now inaugurating these projects. She added that the governor liked to keep his work in silence. “Let me break the silence,” said Magpale.

Bulangsuran School Principal Loreta Taan, was thankful for the classrooms. However, they still need four (4) more classrooms after the elementary school was converted into an integrated school under the K-12 program of the Department of Education.

The province funded the two-classroom building worth Php 1.19 million while the school’s three-classroom Marcos type school building was from the school rehabilitation program of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc., with counterparting from the town (Php 65 thousand per room).

The Php 335 thousand financial aid came from the offices of Vice Governor Magpale and PB Member Christopher Barricuatro.

The two multipurpose buildings in Brgys. Bulangsuran and Basak, costing Php 3.8 million, were also inaugurated. Also intended as evacuation center, it was built using the funds of the national government through the Department of Public Works and Highways.

Caminero, who helped the town secure the projects, said these are priority projects in compliance with the mandate of the government to hold a barangay assembly at least once a year. He said 36 multipurpose buildings were constructed in the second district as of this year for a total budget of Php 71 million.

Samboan Mayor Raymond Joseph Calderon thanked provincial officials and Caminero for the projects and financial aid. He said more projects will be inaugurated soon in Samboan.
