Capitol Inaugurates 11 Million Worth Of Projects In Sogod

Amidst the drizzle, Capitol officials carried out the inauguration of five separate projects in the Municipality of Sogod last January 27.

These projects included four road concreting works in Barangays Ampongol, Liki, Tabunok, and Bawo and a construction of a high school building in Barangay Mohon.

The budget for the road construction of Barangays Ampongol and Bawo cost P1 million each while Barangays Liki and Tabunok were at P600, 000.

Capitol also downloaded P3 million for the construction of a two-storey, six-classroom building for Mohon National High School.

In partnership with the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI), the P8 million worth building was completed on December 2015.

The ribbon cutting ceremonies were led by Governor Hilario P. Davide III and Vice Governor Agnes Magpale.

“Luyo sa hadla sa panahon, nia gihapon kamo. Daghan kaayong salamat gov ug vice gov (Despite the bad weather, you are here with us. We are very thankful for your presence gov and vice gov),” expressed Sogod Mayor Lissa Marie Durano-Streegan.

The Principal of Mohon NHS, Mr. Marcelino Medado was also very grateful for the new edifice that will house around 250 students out of the 500 school population.

Furthermore, Gov. Davide emphasized in his speech the need of quality classrooms to ensure quality education for the students.

“Usa sa mga sentro sa akong six-key agenda ang mga estudyante, maong kinahanglan unahon gyud sila (One of the focus of my six-key agenda are the students. That is why they need to be prioritized)…” he added.

March of last year, Capitol officials also inaugurated three road concreting projects worth P3 million in the town.

“Hapit na gyud malukop ang tanang barangay og tabang pinaagi sa mga proyekto ni Gov. Mapasalamaton kaayo ming tanan sa inyong kanunay nga pagpangga sa Sogod (Almost all of the barangays had their share of projects by the Governor. We are all very thankful),”disclosed Mayor Lissa.

Present also during the events were Provincial Board Members Miguel Antonio Magpale and Jude Thaddeus Durano-Sybico and the officials of Sogod.
