Capitol Gives 3M Worth Of Vehicles

Seventeen barangays were the latest beneficiaries in today’s motor vehicle distribution of the Cebu Provincial Government.

Governor Hilario Davide III and Vice Governor Agnes Magpale lead this year’s first vehicle distribution in the Capitol compound.

There were 14 mini ambulances worth P204, 500 each, two multicabs at P134, 000 each, and two units motorcycles costing P67, 000 each.

The recipients of the mini ambulances include the barangays of Poblacion 1, Carcar City; Camp 7, Minglanilla; Tayud, Consolacion; Sumaguan, Argao; Mandilikit, Argao; Capio-an, Argao; Dalingding, Daanbantayan; Paypay, Daanbantayan; Tapilon, Daanbantayan; Talisay, Daanbantayan; Bagay, Daanbantayan; Bitoon, Daanbantayan; Bateria, Daanbantayan; and South Poblacion, San Fernando.

Another two units of multicabs were given to the barangays of Usmad, Argao and Puertobello, Tudela while Barangay Cambaro of Mandaue City received two units of motorcycles.

Davide urged recipient barangays to take good care of the ambulances and the other vehicles given to them and to maintain it properly to last long “Hinaot nga kining mga mini ambulance, inyong ampingan kay kini kinasing-kasing gyud nga gihatag sa probinsya alang kaninyo.”

The governor emphasized that the distribution of ambulances is just one of the undertakings of the provincial government to elevate the stature of health services in the province.

“Ako nagtuo nga ang kalambuan sa matag sugbuanon, kalambuan usab alang sa kinatibuk-an sa lalawigan sa Sugbo, mao nang gitagaan gyud sa probinsya og pagtagad ang serbisyo alang sa panglawas,” Davide said.

Vice Governor Agnes Magpale asserted that providing health services is the priority of the governor’s administration by providing equipment to the district and provincial hospitals, hiring medical practitioners, holding different medical missions, of ambulances.

Meanwhile, Barangay Captain Catalino Selgas of Camp 7 said that from their barangay to the nearest hospital, one must travel more than 20 kms.

Selgas was thankful for the mini ambulance, “Dako kaayo kini og tabang sa among barangay ilabi na first time namo nga naay mini ambulance, di nami maglisod kung dunay dad-on nga pasyente.”

For her part, Barangay Captain Felisa Osabel of Paypay, Daanbantayan has a different experience. Her personal car becomes the go-to-vehicle. “Nagpasalamat gyud ko sa mga tawo nga nagpalikod aning pagpanghatag og ambulansya kay kinahanglan gyud kaayo kini sa amoang barangay,” said Osabel.

Since 2013, Governor Davide and the Cebu Provincial Government have given out 25 ambulances, 47 mini ambulances, 111 multicabs, nine mini dump trucks and 2 units motorcycles totaling 58.7 million pesos.
