Calayan Medical Group Opens at the Heart of Cebu

Calayan Medical Group (CMG) opened its first branch in Oakridge, AS Fortuna, Cebu City, Cebu. A family-owned business, which spans 3 generations of doctors, hoped to bring “Manila standards of quality medical care to Cebu,” says Dr Irene Calayan, Dermatology Department Head.

To open the ceremony, the family matriarch, Dr. Josefina V. Calayan, gave the opening remarks by talking about her belief that ‘beauty is a light in the heart.’ During its grand opening on June 10, 2015, Mandaue Mayor Jonas Cortes heartily welcomed to the ‘heart of Cebu.’ He continued to praise their effort throughout his speech. “This is life, your happiness lies in the happiness of other people. Give them their own happiness and you will find your own happiness. I believe, this is the reason exactly why we’re here. Because the CMG gave others their happiness that’s exactly why people are coming a hundredfold,” he continued.

In light of this, CMG has 4 departments namely dermatology, regenerative medicine, aesthetic and wellness, and plastic and reconstructive surgery. In the near future, they plan to open a fifth department which is weight management. The CMG center is only 130 square meters and can cater to 5 people at a time. Their team of professionally trained and qualified doctors will fly in between Manila and Cebu to uphold the CMG quality of service.
